(Compound Annual Growth Rate)

Returns the compound annual growth rate, given a starting value, ending value, and number of years.

For example, if the population of a city was 1 million in 2000, and 1.3 million in 2005, then the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of the population was 5.4%

Syntax  (Values in boldface are required; others are optional)

(StartValue, EndValue, Years)
  • StartValue:  The value at the beginning of the measuring period
  • EndValueThe value at the end of the measuring period
  • Years:  The measuring period, in years.  May include fractional years.
